Blugold is a term you use to call a student of University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (WI, USA) while Louisian refers to a student that studies in Saint Louis University (Philippines). There are a lot of similarities but it’s good to point out their differences. First: Blugolds don’t have a dress code when going to the classroom while Louisians are not allowed to wear shorts or hanging dress inside the campus. Second: Blugolds don’t wear their Blugold ID while in the campus whereas Louisians are required to wear their ID’s while inside the premises of the university. Third: In lectures, Blugolds are the ones that should be talking a lot and professors just mediate the discussion while Louisians usually listen to the instructor and only speak up when called by the instructor. Fourth: Blugolds use the English language in the campus while Louisians use both the Filipino and English language or a combination of both when speaking. But in most cases, Louisians use the English language inside the classroom and the Filipino language outside the classroom. Fifth: Blugolds are friendlier because they usually greet you even if you’re completely a stranger to them. It is a good trait because it somewhat enlightens your day and helps you modify your mood from having an undesirable outlook to a positive one.
Blugolds will always be Blugolds and Louisians will always be Louisians. They may have a bit of differences but both are students who strive hard to be good leaders of their own countries.
Dexter, you're right. we will always be who we are. Some differences may help us to understand our own culture in better way. If there's nno diferences, the world may become plain..don't you agree??
ReplyDeleteYeah, I agree. In addition, I think that we must learn how to adapt some behaviors of others that we think would be beneficial for us and eliminate those that are somewhat degrading not only our culture but ourselves as well. :):)
ReplyDeleteIt is interestibng to know the difference between the students in other countries and my home country but also we have a similarity like only speak up when called by the instructor.
ReplyDeleteYeay, I agree with that. I think maybe because we are Asian, we tend to listen to everything that our professor said then asking when we are asked to...
ReplyDeleteyes, those people who are friendly here raelly make us feel at home, and we are willing to study here
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, that bluegolds are very friendlier because they always greet each other. Even though they knew each other before or not.
ReplyDeletei like what you said ,i am excited about that, because learning is a very fascinating thing.
ReplyDeleteYou're exactly right! Even in Malaysia, most of the student combine both languages "Malay" and "English" when they're speaking. But Malaysian students in University don't have the dress code as well.
ReplyDeleteYep, blugold is quite convenience . We also can take bus free ,
